January 1, Family Drama: Walz Relatives Back Trump as Governor Faces Backlash

An image circulating online reveals a striking development: family members of vice-presidential candidate Minnesota Governor Tim Walz are openly supporting former President Trump.

This photo, shared by former Nebraska Republican gubernatorial candidate Charles Herbster, shows eight people proudly wearing “Nebraska Walz’s for Trump” T-shirts.

“Tim Walz’s family back in Nebraska wants you to know something…” Herbster posted, emphasizing the message on social media platform X.

Herbster’s representative confirmed that those in the photo are linked to Gov. Walz through his grandfather’s brother, Francis Walz. While both the Trump and Harris campaigns have been contacted for comments, the stance of Walz’s family speaks volumes.

Members of the Walz family have stated they consider themselves “distant” from Tim Walz and have never met or spoken with him directly. One individual, wishing to remain anonymous, stated their support for Trump is anchored in the belief that “he supports our values.”

Taking notice, Trump responded on Truth Social, hinting at a potential meeting with Jeff Walz, Tim Walz’s older brother, who has been vocal on social media about his disapproval of his brother’s political stance.

“I’m 100% opposed to all his ideology,” Jeff declared in a recent Facebook post.

Jeff expressed his frustration over the lack of communication from his brother, especially with the significant decision of being chosen as Vice President Kamala Harris’s running mate. “My family wasn’t given any notice that he was selected and denied security the days after,” he lamented.

Trump supporters have urged Jeff to take a public stand, with one suggesting, “Help MAGA… Get on stage with President Trump and endorse him…; Help save this country….,” to which Jeff responded, “I’ve thought hard about doing something like that! I’m torn between that and just keeping my family out of it.”

Gov. Walz, who has three siblings – Jeff Walz, Craig Walz, and Sandy Dietrich – now faces a divide that extends beyond political lines. Jeff, who lives in Florida, moved to the East Coast after growing up in rural Nebraska. He shared how he and his family found out about his brother’s selection as vice presidential candidate through the radio, leading to feelings of exclusion and a need for security.

“The only thing I took exception to, and I will stand behind this 100%, was that we felt bad that we found out about his being picked as the vice presidential candidate from radio,” Jeff noted. “And we felt like we probably should have been given a heads-up and some type of security, at least for a short time, because I guess that is a big thing.”

This family divide sheds light on the ongoing American political struggle between traditional values and progressive politics, further emphasizing the importance of supporting leaders who resonate with conservative ideals.

Sounds like he’s more upset he didn’t get any secret service. What he doesn’t understand is he’s probably much safer without the secret service. A 20 year old kid outsmarted them even tho he was the most obvious person at the rally.

I think every family has its black sheep. I also feel that Walz should totally 100% ignore these airheads who are starving for their 15 minutes of fame. Why should he contact distant relatives, they have never met.

Note that the “we weren’t notified” comments were from the VP-nominee’s brother (Jeff), and were not from the distant relatives that he has never met (Tim).
