January 1, DOJ Blocked Clinton Probe Backed by Whistleblowers

Wyatt’s Take

  • DOJ insiders protected Clinton and the DNC from campaign finance investigations.
  • Federal whistleblowers tried to sound the alarm but got shut down by top lawyers.
  • Meanwhile, these same officials aggressively targeted Trump with Arctic Frost.

Recently revealed emails show that top Justice Department lawyers who went after President Trump also blocked efforts to investigate Hillary Clinton and Democratic leaders over campaign cash violations. Whistleblowers brought concerns to Senator Chuck Grassley, exposing how these DOJ officials froze out probes into Democrat wrongdoing.

At the same time, these partisans greenlit ‘Arctic Frost,’ a major investigation used against Trump, while killing inquiries into DNC payments behind the phony Steele dossier that smeared him. Grassley made it clear: “These records show the same partisans who rushed to cover for Clinton rabidly pursued Arctic Frost, which was a runaway train aimed directly at President Trump and the Republican political apparatus.”

The Federal Election Commission fined both Clinton and the DNC $113,000 for misreporting money spent on the dossier, which wrongly painted Trump as a Russian agent. Emails detail how DOJ lawyers, including Richard Pilger and J.P. Cooney, dismissed FBI agents pressing for a real investigation into these violations. The agents said their questions were met with threats that discouraged digging further.

Pilger and Cooney, after blocking the Clinton investigation, later helped launch the Trump-targeted Arctic Frost probe. Pilger even left his election role after the 2020 vote, upset that Trump’s claims of fraud were finally getting a look. He later worked on other political cases before leaving government work altogether.

Senator Grassley’s investigation keeps shedding light on how political bias infects the Justice Department. The law should be equal for everyone, no matter who holds power.
