January 1, Country Singers Nearly Brawl At Oklahoma Festival
Wyatt’s Take
- A shouting match broke out between Zach Bryan and Gavin Adcock behind a fence at a festival.
- Adcock claims Bryan tried to provoke a fight before Adcock’s set.
- The drama raises questions about country star reputations and respect for fans.
Zach Bryan and Gavin Adcock caused a stir at the Born & Raised Festival in Oklahoma when they got into a heated exchange near a chain-link fence. Bryan was seen yelling at Adcock, daring him to “fight like a man” and banging on the fence. Security had to step in as Bryan tried to climb over.
Adcock later shared his side on Instagram. “Well, like I already said, I don’t think Zach Bryan’s a very good person. He wasn’t locked out of the festival,” he said. Adcock explained that Bryan had been at the event with security all day and went looking for him.
“He saw me standing between my buses when he got out here… proceeded to go to other artists and ask them, ‘Where is Gavin, where’s Gavin,'” Adcock added. He said Bryan acted disrespectfully towards other performers and their guests.
Adcock accused Bryan of trying to stir up drama right before his set. “No artist that cares about their fans is going to fight right before their set, missing going on and disappointing fans that spent way too much money to be there.” Adcock said he refused to fight, knowing it would only lead to trouble and disappoint fans.
“I’m just an adult, and fighting him would have only meant going to jail, missing my set, and falling into a Zach Bryan lawsuit – and we all know he likes to manipulate people with money.” He claimed Bryan staged the fence-jumping scene to look tough, though he could have just used the gate.
Adcock also shared that he didn’t fall for the bait and wished Bryan would change his ways. “I know my decision I made was right. I didn’t take the Zach Bryan bait, and I’ll be praying for him to get better because he sure needs it.” Both were performing at the festival along with other country stars.
The tension isn’t the first between the musicians. Adcock has previously criticized Bryan for brushing off a young fan after a show. Bryan reportedly replied online, “You’re not entitled after someone plays two and a half hours to a picture or a hello. GOMD [Get off my d—].” Adcock responded, “If you can’t handle the criticism of a 14 year old why do people idolize you?”
No comment came from Bryan’s team about the latest incident.

Wyatt Matters
This story hits at the heart of respect, honesty, and the example set for young folks. In Middle America, we want our music idols to remember who they’re singing for and act with decency, not ego.
