  • Bill and Hillary Clinton are being ordered to appear before Congress in January 2026.
  • Chairman Comer threatens contempt if they skip their new deposition dates.
  • Comer says the Clintons must answer questions in person about Jeffrey Epstein.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer is pushing Bill and Hillary Clinton to testify in person about their connections to Jeffrey Epstein. He’s set new January 2026 dates and says skipping them means contempt charges.

Comer warned their attorney that missing these depositions will result in Congress moving “immediately to contempt proceedings.” The Clintons had not offered any alternative dates to testify.

“They’re saying now that he’s going to a funeral on that day, so we’ve been going back and forth with the lawyer,” Comer said. “We’re going to hold him in contempt if he doesn’t show up for his deposition.”

The committee chose January 13, 2026, for Bill Clinton’s deposition and January 14, 2026, for Hillary Clinton. The Republican chair insists others haven’t received the same special treatment.

The Clintons were subpoenaed as part of the committee’s probe into Epstein. Only two summoned figures, Bill Barr and Alex Acosta, have shown up in person so far.

Other former officials have postponed their depositions or sent written statements, but Comer says the Clintons won’t get that option. He criticized their lawyer for suggesting they should.

“Your correspondence with the Committee continues to ignore the Committee’s arguments, misstates relevant facts, and seeks information about the Committee’s investigation to which neither you nor your clients are entitled,” Comer wrote.

He explained that some individuals were excused due to lack of relevant information or serious health problems, but says the Clintons are in a different situation since they had personal ties to Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

Photos and documents show Bill Clinton and others, including Donald Trump, at various social events with Epstein. Both Clinton and Trump had handwritten entries in a book for Epstein’s 50th birthday, though more attention has been paid to Trump’s entry in the media.

No charges or wrongdoing have been connected to the Clintons from these ties, and their contact with Epstein ended before his 2019 indictment and suicide.

Keep an eye on whether the Clintons show up or if this fight heats up further. These hearings matter for uncovering the truth, no matter who’s involved.
