January 1, Code Pink Boss Pushes China Propaganda Trips

Wyatt’s Take

  • Code Pink is driving Americans to tour communist China, with events run by Jodie Evans and backed by her wealthy Marxist husband, Neville Roy Singham.
  • These trips celebrate China’s communist history, the socialist economy, and even praise leaders responsible for millions of deaths.
  • The U.S. State Department warns groups like Code Pink spread Chinese government propaganda through these campaigns.

Code Pink’s leader, Jodie Evans, married to left-wing businessman Neville Roy Singham, has been actively recruiting Americans to take “curated” trips to communist China. Evans led a January interest meeting praising China as “a wonderland of socialist expression.”

Evans’s husband, Singham, lives and works in Shanghai and is known for funding far-left groups in the U.S. and supporting pro-CCP media. The trips promoted by Code Pink honor China’s communist struggle, praise Mao Zedong’s actions, and gloss over his responsibility for more than 70 million deaths.

The tours – called Red China, Iconic China, Wellness China, and Kungfu China – are coordinated with a Chinese tourism outfit, Sunriver, whose leader was recently detained in a criminal probe. The trips feature glowing coverage of China’s economic and technological rise but are rooted in socialist messaging.

Megan Russell and other Code Pink activists assisted Evans. Speakers included China Academy’s Mimi Zhu, who described travel packages and hosted around 50 interested participants. Evans promoted the revolutionary spirit, saying, “That’s what you’re gonna experience every minute.”

Code Pink’s efforts include disrupting U.S. government hearings and shifting Americans toward trips that highlight China’s socialist path. The State Department states China’s government spreads messages through organizations like Code Pink and those funded by Singham.

Evans and her group did not answer requests for comment about their recruitment and partnership activities with Chinese entities.

Middle Americans should be wary when groups try to sugarcoat foreign regimes that stand against our freedoms and values. Trips like these try to sell a rosy picture, but history shows how these ideologies can endanger people’s lives and futures.

America will never be communist or socialist. You see, Americans, generation after generation are accustomed to be free thinkers and ambitious. They don’t like to be told how to think, walk or talk.
