Wyatt’s Take

  • A man convicted in the stabbing death of a six-year-old has been released early.
  • The victim’s family and many across America are furious over the shortened sentence.
  • The White House now says it’s looking into the case after national outcry.

Ronald Exantus, found not guilty by reason of insanity for killing Logan Tipton, was freed after serving just eight years in prison. Tipton was a sleeping child when Exantus broke in and stabbed him repeatedly in the head. During the attack, the boy’s father, Dean Tipton, and his sisters were also stabbed while trying to protect Logan. Dean witnessed the murder and managed to restrain the attacker until police arrived.

“He snaps, just snaps, and stands up with me sitting on top of him, and he throws me across the room,” Dean recalled. “I mean, maybe 10-15 feet he throws me across the room and goes after [Koral].”

The defense did not dispute Exantus committed the crime. Logan’s mother, Heather Tipton, expressed deep anger, pointing out that her son’s killer served time for assault, not murder. “It’s infuriating that a six-year-old was killed sleeping in his bed, and someone literally only did ten years in prison, and he didn’t even do the time for that. He did time for assault charges. It’s just infuriating,” she said.

Dean Tipton now fears for his family’s safety. He warned: “If I ever cross paths with him, I will kill the man. I will kill him where he stands.”

High-profile voices online, including podcast host Matt Walsh, pushed the story into the national spotlight. “This case should be getting A LOT more attention. Should be massively viral. We need the White House on it. A man who broke into a house and stabbed a child to death is now walking free. One of the most heinous miscarriages of justice in American history,” Walsh posted.

The White House confirmed it is reviewing the case. “It’s wholly unacceptable for a child killer to walk free after just several years in prison,” Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt posted.

Justice for victims shouldn’t depend on outrage or trending hashtags. Make your voice heard against this kind of injustice and keep standing strong for the families that the system fails.

Wyatt Matters

Every child in America should be safe in their own home and every family deserves real justice, not a system that lets killers walk free after a few years.
