The shooter who killed Kirk during a Utah event is still missing.
Law enforcement says their search and investigation continue.

Not long after confirming that someone was in custody over the Charlie Kirk shooting, FBI director Kash Patel revealed the person had been released following interrogation.

Patel had first shared news of the arrest on X, but updated later:

“The subject in custody has been released after an interrogation by law enforcement. Our investigation continues and we will continue to release information in interest of transparency.”

This leaves the public with no answers as Kirk’s killer remains at large. Kirk was attacked and fatally shot during a speech at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.
