January 1, California Faces Lawsuit Over ‘Illegal’ Trans Cash Program
Several San Francisco residents have filed a lawsuit against city officials, including Democratic Mayor London Breed, over the allegedly “illegal” Guaranteed Income for Trans People (GIFT) Program. This initiative provides taxpayer funds to black and Latino biological men who identify as females, offering them $1,200 each month for up to 18 months to address financial insecurity within trans communities.
Judicial Watch, a nonprofit legal group, filed the suit on behalf of the plaintiffs, arguing that the program is unconstitutional due to its “preferential treatment.” The complaint states that “any expenditure of taxpayer funds or taxpayer-financed resources on the GIFT program is illegal under Article 1, section 7 of the California Constitution because the program’s grant of preferential treatment to biological males who identify as females is immediately suspect and presumptively invalid and cannot survive strict scrutiny review.”
The lawsuit names Breed, José Cisneros, treasurer of the City and County of San Francisco, John Doe, the executive director of the Office of Transgender Initiatives of the City and County of San Francisco, and Carmen Chu, city administrator of the City and County of San Francisco, as defendants. The GIFT program initially opened to 55 applicants, providing income and access to “gender-affirming medical and mental health care.” The funds were first distributed in January 2023 and will continue through 2024, according to the program’s website.
Undocumented individuals are also eligible to apply for the program if they meet the other criteria. Mayor Breed stated, “We know that our trans communities experience much higher rates of poverty and discrimination, so this program will target support to lift individuals in this community up.”
However, the plaintiffs argue that the program is essentially racial and sexual discrimination, as only transgender minorities can apply. They have asked the court to prevent the city from using taxpayer dollars to fund the program. Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, said in a press release, “The transgender extremists running San Francisco are illegally using taxpayer money to hand out free cash to transgender individuals based on race and sex in blatant violation of the state’s constitution.”
Breed, Cisneros, and Chu have not yet responded to requests for comment.

San Francisco’s GIFT program is yet another example of radical left-wing policies undermining our constitutional values. By providing taxpayer dollars to biological males who identify as females, the city blatantly discriminates against other struggling residents.
The fact that this program specifically targets black and Latino individuals only exacerbates the issue, turning it into a race-based handout. Furthermore, allowing undocumented individuals to apply only encourages more illegal immigration.
It’s time for the courts to step in and put an end to this unconstitutional and discriminatory program. Kudos to Judicial Watch for shining a light on this outrageous abuse of taxpayer money and fighting for the rights of all citizens.

Nope, this crap is happening across the US, in one form or another. First they create “hate” laws that essentially prevent stating the truth about ALL of these special interest and minority groups, then they provide special programs to benefit these worthless people. “We” only have ourselves to blame for Not taking physical action against all of those who support this garbage. Protests and lawsuits do absolutely NOTHING to stop this evil, all it does is make lawyers rich. Sadly, it is only going to get worse because the population overall insists on conforming.

Multiple studies over the last score of years have shown that children tend to do better when raised by two-parent households. This is especially true when one of the parents can stay at home and raise them. Perhaps we need a plan to guarantee income to all married couples who raise children together, so we can have a better future generation. If that income is sufficient so one of the parents can stay at home, then that would benefit society. It would definitely be a better use of public money than giving it to people because of race or sexual orientation alone.

Never ceases to amaze me how these arrogant elected individuals are even allowed to waste taxpayers dollars on this kind of bs. This is a twisted example of communism/government tyrrany. If this is something the people of California want let them vote on it as a separate line item on a ballot otherwise it is an abuse of power.
