  • Recent tragic events led to calls for stronger law enforcement.

Tom Homan, nicknamed the Border Czar, had a meeting with Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey. They talked with law enforcement about crime and safety in Minnesota.

Homan wrote

“Today I met with Governor Walz, Mayor Frey, and top law enforcement officials to discuss the issues on the ground in Minnesota.”

He stressed how supporting police and stopping crime matters to everyone at the table, even if not all views were the same.

Homan added

“We all agree that we need to support our law enforcement officers and get criminals off the streets.”

He called the talks

“a productive starting point.”

No deals or promises came out of these meetings, but lines of communication are open.

These talks followed recent deadly incidents involving law enforcement, including the deaths of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

Both died in shooting confrontations with federal officers.

After the latest shooting, President Trump said Governor Walz had called him wanting help for Minnesota.

Trump noted

“It was a very good call, and we, actually, seemed to be on a similar wavelength.”

Trump also said he was sending Homan

“tough but fair.”

Folks in the community are waiting to see what actions these leaders might take next.
