January 1, Big Surprises Shake Up Emmy Winners List

This year’s Emmy Awards night brought headline-grabbing results, shaking up expectations and spotlighting some unexpected winners. With 23 nominations, “The Studio” broke records and clinched several top prizes for its first season.
“Adolescence” made a strong showing, pulling in awards for supporting performances, best limited series, and leading actor. Over in drama, “The Pitt” took home key trophies, nabbing supporting actress, best lead actor, and outstanding drama series.
Noah Wyle picked up the award for lead actor in drama for “The Pitt,” while Britt Lower took home lead actress honors for “Severance.” Seth Rogen shined as lead comedy actor for “The Studio.” Jean Smart’s work in “Hacks” earned her lead actress in a comedy.
Stephen Graham brought home lead actor for a limited series thanks to “Adolescence.” Cristin Milioti won for lead actress in “The Penguin.” The big series winners were “The Pitt” for drama, “The Studio” for comedy, and “Adolescence” in the limited series category.
Owen Cooper’s supporting role in “Adolescence” landed him an Emmy, while Hannah Einbinder’s performance in “Hacks” won her supporting actress in a comedy series. Tramell Tillman stood out as supporting actor in drama for “Severance,” and Katherine LaNasa picked up supporting actress honors in drama for “The Pitt.”
From lead roles to supporting standouts, this Emmy night delivered more than a few jaw-droppers. Some shows walked away legends, others left looking for another shot next year.
