Biden’s approval ratings plunge in critical battleground state
According to a recent Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa poll, President Joe Biden’s approval ratings in Iowa plummeted to just 31%, with 62% of Iowans saying they disapprove.
The new data marks a significant 12-point drop from June when the ratings stood at 43% approval and 52% disapproval.
“This is a bad poll for Joe Biden, and it’s playing out in everything that he touches right now,” pollster, J. Ann Selzer, told the Des Moines Register.
The commander-in-chief’s job approval rating is lower than former President Donald Trump’s worst numbers, 35% in Dec. 2017.
“The way we exited Afghanistan was pretty sad,” said politically independent poll participant Brad Singleton, 45. “Not the fact that we left Afghanistan, because we probably should have done that a long time ago, but just the way we did that it felt like Americans were abandoned and it felt like we just left equipment there.”
