Wyatt’s Take

  • Bernie Sanders wants Trump to kill billions in solar subsidies that are padding corporate pockets
  • These green energy handouts have been bleeding taxpayers dry while enriching connected insiders
  • Finally someone’s calling out this climate change money grab for what it really is

Bernie Sanders is demanding President-elect Trump end massive solar subsidies that have cost taxpayers billions. The Vermont socialist says these programs have become corporate welfare schemes.

Sanders pointed to data showing solar companies received over $15 billion in federal handouts last year alone. Much of this money went to massive corporations rather than helping ordinary Americans with energy costs.

“These subsidies were supposed to help working families, but they’ve become another way for big corporations to get rich off taxpayer money,” Sanders said in a statement.

The solar industry has lobbied heavily to keep these programs running. They claim ending subsidies would hurt job creation and slow clean energy progress.

Trump campaigned on cutting wasteful government spending and ending corporate welfare. These solar subsidies represent exactly the kind of swamp deals he promised to drain.

Working families are struggling with high energy bills while their tax dollars fund corporate profits. This backwards system needs to end immediately.
