Actress Dies After High-Speed Crash

Actress Anne Heche succumbed to injuries sustained in a fiery car crash last week.

“We have lost a bright light, a kind and most joyful soul, a loving mother, and a loyal friend,” a family representative told TMZ.

Heche, 53, sustained severe burns when she crashed into a Los Angeles home in the Mar Vista neighborhood on Aug. 5. Shortly after the crash, her car burst into flames, which took firefighters nearly an hour to extinguish, according to NBC News

The “Donnie Brasco” actress went to the hospital in critical condition before reportedly falling into a coma on Aug. 8.

After the accident, the Los Angeles Police Department launched an investigation into Heche for allegedly driving under the influence and fleeing from an earlier hit-and-run, the Los Angeles Times reported. Police told the outlet they obtained a search warrant to test Heche’s blood alcohol level.

On Aug. 11, the LAPD confirmed that Heche was under the influence of cocaine at the time of the accident.

“In preliminary testing, the blood draw revealed the presence of drugs,” the LAPD said in a statement. “The case is being investigated as felony DUI traffic collision.”

Always following in the the crowd of men like James Dean in the 50’s, but not driving her race car to a race, just thinking she could race. The biggest thing I know about her was her name.

I was sorry to read of her tragic death. She was a wonderful actress with a great flair for comedy. From what I read about her childhood she had a lot of issues. I truly hope she found peace in death.

It is sad she suffered from issues in life. Even sadder she took a chance of taking other lives with her, not to mention destroying their home. Sad that people cannot find another, less destructive way out.
