January 1, Abortion Pill Safety Under Scrutiny as FDA Reviews Data

Wyatt’s Take

  • The FDA is actively reviewing abortion pill safety data after past cover-ups.
  • New studies show serious risks to women and babies from these drugs.
  • Politicians demand honest science and protection for mothers and children.

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. confirmed the FDA is reviewing the abortion drug responsible for most abortions nationwide. Kennedy admitted to a Senate committee that the Biden administration helped hide safety concerns, saying,

“they actually twisted the data to bury one of the safety signals with a very high safety signal, around 11 percent.”

Kennedy promised to stop this kind of cover-up and make sure the best science comes first. He said,

“we’re producing … science and gold standard science on that.”

He also admitted it remains unclear what kind of studies the FDA is doing, but officials claim they are ongoing.

Earlier this year, Kennedy asked FDA Commissioner Marty Makary to do a full review of abortion pill data. Makary has publicly pledged to keep looking at new information about risks to women and children, and to “take action” if needed.

No date has been set for when this review will be finished, but Kennedy agreed with Sen. Josh Hawley that this is a “top priority.” New evidence shows complications from the abortion pill are 22 times more frequent than the FDA admits. Kennedy called this finding “alarming” and said the pill’s label should at least be changed.

Even more concerning, 83 percent of emergency room visits after these abortions are marked as “miscarriage” instead of the real cause, making it hard for women to get the help they need. Researchers blame abortion activists for encouraging women to hide the truth, putting lives at risk.

Despite these dangers, abortion giants and the media keep pushing the claim that the pill is “safer than Tylenol.” Lawsuits now challenge Planned Parenthood’s role in promoting these drugs, even as relaxed rules under Obama and Biden sparked a surge in at-home abortions.

The drug has brought suffering for countless women and children, with side effects like severe bleeding, infection, and even death. Nearly 70 percent of abortions are believed to be unwanted or pushed on women against their will, highlighting deep problems with easy access to these pills.

Women have been poisoned by partners using abortion drugs, with lawsuits showing both loss of unborn babies and dangerous health effects for the mothers. During the hearing, when asked about returning to in-person doctor visits for abortion drugs, Kennedy promised to follow up. He did confirm that organizations not following federal rules on abortion activities aren’t getting government funds.

Our families and communities deserve honesty, respect for life, and real medical care—not shortcuts and cover-ups.
