The San Francisco 49ers pulled off a tough road win, beating the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles 23-19 in the Wild Card Round. Quarterback Brock Purdy spoke about his hopes of bringing a Super Bowl to his home crowd as his team advances in the playoffs.

This game went down to the last minute, with each side battling hard until the final play. The Eagles were close to scoring late but failed to convert, thanks to sharp defense from San Francisco.

“I just want to play for this team, for these fans, and chase the dream,” Purdy said.

On the 49ers’ last drive, Purdy led a 66-yard march that set up Christian McCaffrey’s second touchdown, putting them ahead for good. A late stop by linebacker Eric Kendricks sealed the win with just seconds left.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan pulled out a trick play in the fourth quarter, letting wide receiver Jauan Jennings throw a 29-yard touchdown pass to McCaffrey, showing the 49ers’ creativity under pressure.

Purdy threw two interceptions, but the defense held strong. All-Pro Quinyon Mitchell grabbed both Eagles picks, but the 49ers refused to let those mistakes kill their momentum.

Star tight end George Kittle likely suffered a torn Achilles, hurting the 49ers’ chances going forward, but the team kept fighting without him. McCaffrey totaled 66 yards receiving and contributed in key moments even with Seattle looming next round.

The 49ers’ win means they now advance to play their rivals, the Seattle Seahawks. Meanwhile, other playoff matchups have the Rams traveling to play the Bears after their own wild finish.

The 49ers’ path to the Super Bowl isn’t easy, but this gritty victory shows they’re not backing down.
