January 1, Trump Drives Through Drained Pool, Exposes Staggering Obama-Era Waste

Wyatt’s Take

  • Trump just saved taxpayers over $353 million by fixing the Reflecting Pool for $1.8 million—Obama spent $38 million and it leaked immediately
  • The president personally picked ‘American Flag Blue’ for the new surface and guarantees it won’t leak like the Obama disaster
  • While cleaning up D.C., Interior has removed 1,000 graffiti sites and 82 homeless camps—restoring dignity to our nation’s capital

President Donald Trump rolled his motorcade straight through the drained Reflecting Pool on Thursday, inspecting a restoration that’s exposing yet another Obama-era boondoggle. Standing on the pool floor between the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument, Trump showed America exactly what common-sense leadership looks like.

The numbers tell the whole story. Obama burned through $38 million on this project—and it started leaking the minute they finished. Trump’s team? They’re doing it right for $1.8 million. That’s over $36 million saved, folks.

“The color was never good because basically it had a gray stone underneath,” the president told reporters. “Now it’s going to have the great color. It’s going to last a long time and you’ll have no leak—guaranteed.”

Trump personally chose the new color for the iconic landmark. He’s calling it “American Flag Blue”—because why wouldn’t you?

The Reflecting Pool stretches over 2,000 feet and draws millions of visitors every year. It’s been the backdrop for historic moments and presidential ceremonies. Under the previous administration, it became another example of government waste and incompetence.

Previous estimates to fix the 2,400-foot pool reached as high as $355 million with a multi-year timeline, according to National Park Service documents. Trump’s getting it done in two weeks for a fraction of a percent of that cost. The contrast couldn’t be clearer.

Interior Secretary Doug Burgum joined Trump for the inspection, reviewing the application of a new industrial-strength sealant that will actually work. Burgum laid out what the administration has accomplished in just months.

“We’ve never had a president who has cared more, invested more, or put more time and attention into everything about the Mall,” Burgum said.

The Interior Department has cleared more than 1,000 graffiti sites and removed 82 homeless encampments from the nation’s capital under Trump’s directive to make Washington “safe and beautiful” again. That’s not just talk—it’s results Americans can see.

The National Park Service completed a so-called “major rehabilitation” of the Reflecting Pool back in 2012 under Obama, spending roughly $30 million to address structural issues and chronic leaking. Except it didn’t address anything. The problems continued, and the tab kept growing.

Trump’s inspection is part of a broader beautification campaign for Washington. The president also previewed upcoming projects including improvements to the Lincoln Memorial Undercroft and a proposed Triumphal Arch honoring American achievement.

While establishment types spent decades letting our monuments crumble and our capital decay, Trump’s treating these landmarks with the respect they deserve. He’s proving government can work efficiently when you have leadership that actually cares about results instead of how much money they can funnel to connected contractors.

Why It Matters

This isn’t just about a pool or a monument. It’s about whether your tax dollars get burned on connected cronies or actually fix what’s broken. Working families across America see their presidents drive past these landmarks on TV and wonder why nothing ever works right in Washington. Now they’re watching a president who treats their money like it’s his own—because that’s exactly what it is. When your government can save $353 million on a single project and get better results, that’s not just good management. That’s respect for the people who earned that money in the first place.

It’s so nice to see someone who treats our tax $$ like the monies MEAN something – because they certainly mean something TO US! EVERYTHING Democrats have touched over the last 20 years HAVE TURNED TO 💩- because DEMOCRATS ARE “academics” – THEY EXIST ON “concepts” which HAVE NO PRACTICAL PURPOSE IN REAL LIFE! THIS is why Democrats can never get anything accomplished THAT BENEFITS THE AMERICAN PEOPLE! That & the fact that they have no intention of doing anything “THAT DOESN’T PUT $$ IN DEMOCRAT POCKETS!”

Obama – kenya born and his shadow government… the ONLY way to take the USA is from within and he’s still working hard to make that happen with those who “feel” they have the “god-like” power for a 1 world government. I’m among many who saw/felt the divisiveness obama’s lies about “its not the color of your skin but the character” (WHO/HOW the powers in motion helped a non-USA born citizen become president… like Aesop’s Fables of putting all your eggs in one basket – shows someone without common sense – if you need that explained you really don’t have any. Interesting that it takes one man, just one man… to take on a government so corrupt to right the wrong for all the lefts’ deceptiveness, greed. All that obama and biden allowed with resurrecting racial issues (the 70’s worked with music to heal much of it… and so many tv shows and movies were awesome with double a’s)… then along comes obama, who is still pushing racial issue. Has obama done ANYTHING to help his Chicago minorities? He used them. The first double a president and he poops it.

Agree with all you say and yet, there is so much more America is not even aware of; time for this foreign radical to be taken to a US military court’s martial for ESPIONAGE AND SABOTAGE!! Don’t know if that will ever happen, but keep praying it does. We can thank the communist, Pelosi , for “vetting” and promoting the Indonesian fraud; she deserves a prime seat beside him at that court’s martial.

President Trump continues to do what is best for our great country. If it involves tax dollars he makes sure they are used wisely. What do you think the leftist and RINO’S hate him so, he has most likely cut off their kickback money they have received for decades. There is no telling how much money these thugs have pocketed over the decades by using their titles and influence to get certain people approved for their friends, their companies and contractors.

OK he I supposedly saving money on this but he is going to make us pay 1 billion $for the supposedly balloon that he says everyone wants that only person that wants it is him. He is destroying the White House and other monuments that are the American people not his. He thinks he is king Anna acts like it to. Trying to ruin television shows, what and where we can go, he is a lyre, cheat, convicted convict, ands he is embarrassing the United States every day. What is the reason he started the war is one question. The one no one has answered.

What “balloon” are you talking about? I am guessing you are talking about the “ballroom” that is very much needed. For your information, President Trump will get no benefit from the “ballroom” as it will not be finished in time. It will benefit future presidents. Now, tell us again, what your beef is?

But 1 billion a day spent bombing our planet, which structurally devastates the ENTIRE planet: from earthquakes to gas main explosions to more potholes on the roads. It’s obvious Trump deems all those unimportant. He’s all show.

I’m thrilled President Trump is in office I just wish he could stay longer. Trump has done more for America than any other president. Stopping Iran from nuclear weapons is much needed. Iran had weapons and a proxy in Venezuela right in our backyard once they had a nuclear weapon it would have been on us Islam has proclaimed to kill Americans Wake up America Muslims are working from within to destroy America anyone that doesn’t believe as they do will be killed

Michelle Sounds like one of Kamalas word salads. You need to get your facts straight. That ballroom is funded by private donations. No taxpayer dollars involved. By the time it’s done Trump will be out of office. It won’t benefit him in anyway only future presidents. Trump is reconditioned the monuments around Washington, and for a place that is supposed to make laws, it’s one of the worst places in the United States. It should be the Jewel of the United States. Might want to take that out of your mouth before you speak.
