Wyatt’s Take
- Vice President JD Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance just welcomed their fourth child — a baby boy — making history in the process
- Usha Vance becomes the first Second Lady to give birth while her husband serves as Vice President in decades, marking a milestone for American families in leadership
- The Vance family announced the pregnancy back in January with a July due date, and right on schedule, their newest son has arrived safe and sound
Vice President JD Vance took to social media Sunday with wonderful news. He and Second Lady Usha Vance welcomed their fourth child into the world — a healthy baby boy.
The announcement came with joy and gratitude from the Second Family. The Vances had shared news of the pregnancy back in January, letting Americans know they expected their newest addition in July.

True to form, the baby arrived right on schedule. And with his arrival comes a piece of history most folks don’t even realize.
Usha Vance is now the first Second Lady to give birth while serving in that role in generations. It’s a reminder that even our nation’s leaders are regular people building families and raising kids — just like millions of hardworking Americans across the heartland.
The Vance family now includes four children, a testament to their commitment to family values. In an era when the left constantly attacks traditional family structures, the Vances are living proof that strong families remain the backbone of this country.
Vice President Vance has been vocal about the importance of family throughout his political career. He’s spoken openly about the challenges working families face and the need for policies that support parents trying to raise the next generation of Americans.
Now, with a newborn son in his arms, those words carry even more weight. The Vice President understands firsthand what it means to balance public service with the sacred duty of fatherhood.
Details about the baby’s name and exact birth date have not yet been released. The Vance family has asked for privacy during this special time as they adjust to life as a family of six.
Congratulations poured in from across the political spectrum. Even in divided times, the birth of a child remains something Americans can celebrate together.
The Second Lady has maintained a relatively low profile during her pregnancy, focusing on her family while supporting her husband’s duties. That quiet dignity stands in sharp contrast to the circus that often surrounds Washington power players.
Wyatt Matters
There’s something deeply American about this story. A Vice President and his wife, welcoming a new baby while serving our country. It reminds us that behind the politics and the speeches, these are real people living real lives. Strong families built on faith and hard work — that’s what made America great in the first place. And it’s families like the Vances who’ll keep that tradition alive for the next generation.

should have been…
“Usha Vance becomes the first Second Lady in decades to give birth while her husband serves as Vice President”
The same information was repeated several paragraphs later…
“Usha Vance is now the first Second Lady to give birth while serving in that role in generations.”
Strike 3
The article states that…
“Details about the baby’s name and exact birth date have not yet been released.”
However, the VP’s birth announcement from the day of the birth, provided in the article, gives the baby’s name as “Alec Neel Vance” and says he was born “today”.
The article also says that Usha maintained a low profile during her pregnancy, which couldn’t be further from the truth. She was hosting and attending children’s parties, Easter festivities and “250th Storytime with the Second Lady” to name a few.
Not one of your greatest articles.
