Wyatt’s Take

  • Netanyahu’s coalition came up short of a majority but still sits in the driver’s seat.
  • Opposition leaders cannot form a government without Arab parties that voters reject.
  • Trump was right when he said strong leadership beats political chaos every time.

Israelis went to the polls looking for clarity after years of political gridlock. Instead they got another reminder that Benjamin Netanyahu knows how to survive and win.

Early exit polls gave his rivals false hope. Official counts showed his right-wing and religious bloc holding the largest share of seats and the opposition far behind.

Turnout reached 77.7 percent, the highest since 1999. Even with that surge, the so-called change bloc led by former military chief Gadi Eisenkot finished well short of what it needed.

“In the end, the opposition’s hope that anger over the war and religious exemptions would decisively dislodge Netanyahu failed to materialize,” the article states. “His phone lines are open, and his rivals will ultimately have to call him.”

The opposition faces an impossible choice. Forming a government would require Arab parties that many Israeli families view as hostile to security needs after the October 7 attacks.

Netanyahu’s Likud party remains the single largest bloc. He can wait for remaining soldier ballots that historically favor the right, court defectors, or force new elections that would likely strengthen his hand further.

His opponents spent months claiming this vote would finally end his career. Instead they are stuck in the same box they have been in for years.

Wyatt Matters

Middle America knows that steady leadership beats constant chaos. When voters reject radical change, real strength shows itself in results, not empty promises.
