Wyatt’s Take

  • Florida officials are cracking down on woke title choices in schools.
  • A Gainesville teacher used ‘Mx.’ instead of ‘Ms.’ or ‘Mrs.’ with students.
  • The state says this breaks both law and school policy.

Florida’s Attorney General says a Gainesville elementary teacher broke state law by making students and coworkers use the gender-neutral title ‘Mx.’ for her.

The teacher was put on leave while Alachua County investigates.

Attorney General Uthmeier demanded the school district enforce the law and issued a strong letter on the matter.

Florida law says school staff cannot use titles or pronouns not matching their biological sex.

Gov. DeSantis signed the rule last year, making biological sex the standard for all schools.

Florida’s top lawyer warned the district could be held responsible if they don’t follow the law.

This comes as the state already watches Alachua County schools for other violations.

Parents and families across the country pay attention when schools test state law like this.

Follow the story for updates as state officials demand action in Florida classrooms.

There are always teachers who decide for themselves what laws/rules they will adhere to. Everyone else be dammed.
