Wyatt’s Take

  • A reporter with ties to radical groups faces deportation.
  • Biden’s DHS thanks those responsible for removing foreign threats.
  • Critics argue American security is at stake in these decisions.

The Department of Homeland Security confirmed a British journalist, linked to the Muslim Brotherhood, is in ICE custody and awaiting deportation from the US. The government said his visa was revoked, and he was picked up at San Francisco International Airport.

“Thanks to the work of @Sec_Noem and @SecRubio and the men and women of law enforcement, this individual’s visa was revoked and he is in ICE custody pending removal,” Tricia McLaughlin from DHS said. “Under President Trump, those who support terrorism and undermine American national security will not be allowed to work or visit this country.”

Advocacy group CAIR called Hamdi’s detention an “injustice” and urged ICE to release him. They claimed this was “an Israel First policy, not an America First policy, and it must end.”

According to activist Laura Loomer, sources at the Department of Homeland Security said Hamdi, identified as a “Muslim Brotherhood official,” was arrested as he tried to travel to Tampa for an event seen as supportive of extremist causes.

Another journalist, Amy Mek, posted that Hamdi had traveled around the country, speaking in mosques and colleges while teaching methods aligning with the Muslim Brotherhood’s agenda. Mek called Hamdi “a deployed actor” seeking to mobilize American Muslims for political activity and noted his appearances alongside extremist figures.

The safety of American communities depends on strong borders and strict checks on those entering the country. Actions taken here reflect the need to stay watchful about foreign threats and to prioritize the well-being of everyday Americans.
