  • Gavin Newsom pointed fingers at Republicans right after tragedy struck a Minnesota school.
  • The shooter was identified as a transgender woman, and disturbing social media evidence surfaced.
  • Critics blasted Newsom for seizing on the tragedy to score political points.

Two children lost their lives and seventeen more were hurt when a gunman opened fire during a Catholic school Mass in Minneapolis. The shooter, Robin Westman, was a transgender woman who had attended the school, according to police statements.

Police confirm Westman posted a video manifesto just before the attack, showing writings including “kill Donald Trump” on gun magazines. The tragedy happened during a back-to-school Mass for students.

“We cannot even make it through the first week of school without mass shootings. And the [GOP] will continue to do absolutely nothing while our kids are being gunned down. This is sick,”

Newsom posted on social media, laying the blame on Republicans even though Minnesota already has some of the nation’s stricter gun control laws.

He faced backlash online, with one user saying,

“What’s sick is a Governor trying to score political points off of an absolute tragedy in another state. This man is politics and self above all else.”

Another posted,

“What is sick is that you can’t make it until they even find out how many poor victims there are before you start pathetically trying to politicize these murders.”

Instead of coming together for the families hurting, some politicians would rather keep pushing their blame game. It’s no way to fix a country or heal a community. Read more here
