January 1, Parents Outraged After Schools Nationwide Celebrate BLM’s ‘Week of Action’

Concerned parents nationwide vehemently condemned schools for celebrating Black Lives Matter’s “Week of Action.”

A California father outlined his concerns in an email to the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District.

“[I’m] very concerned that the Black Lives Matter political movement has trojan-horsed their way into Black History education at Webster Elementary,” he wrote.

“BLM is a divisive and radical fringe group that includes anti-American, anti-Israel (OUR Jewish homeland and that of proud Jewish people), antisemetic and racist propaganda.”

The father said parents received a message that the school board had approved celebrating “BLM Week of Action” for the second consecutive year and urged “teachers and schools” to implement the group’s “13 Guiding Principles.”

According to BLM At School’s website, participating schools pledge to support: restorative justice, empathy, loving engagement, diversity, globalism, queer affirming, trans affirming, collective value, intergenerational, black families, black villages, unapologetically black, and black women.

“We are committed to disrupting the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and ‘villages’ that collectively care for one another, and especially ‘our’ children to the degree that mothers, parents and children are comfortable,” according to the website.

Schools across the country participated in the “Week of Action.” In Georgia, kindergarteners in Dekalb County were offered a lesson called “Looking at Race and Racial Identity in Children’s Books.”

Former NFL player Jack Brewer called BLM “divisive” and “anti-Christ.”

“I mean, the doctrine that they’re teaching these children right now, it’s so sad,” Brewer said during an appearance on America’s Newsroom.

“And to think that you are going to talk about the destruction of the family. You’re going to promote broken families, and you’re going to go against all of those things that we as Americans hold so true.”

Asra Nomani, the Vice President for Strategy and Investigations at Parents Defending Education, said that political activism does not belong in the classroom.

“Most rational thinkers agree that public schools should not be home to political activism, from any side of the political divide, but public schools across America, from Boston to Seattle, have opened their doors for activist teachings from the divisive Black Lives Matter political organization,” Nomani said in a statement.

“Under the cover of a week of action, called ‘Black Lives Matter at School,’ children as young as 5 years old are being trained how to be political activists.”

“What we are witnessing is state-sponsored political indoctrination, using coloring books, downloadable slide shows and contests to teach a next generation ‘social justice activism,’ in the program’s own words,” she added.

Parents, remove your children from these evil schools until this behavior is corrected.

As a free nation having assembled an organization with stated principles and goals is a right and to be active regarding promoting those principles an obvious next step.
However we are a country with many cultures and where you may not agree with some you have no right to influence at the elementary/development level those different children. At this level it can easily be viewed as attempting to indoctrinate. Sort of what China is doing.
Parents are responsible for the early development of their children’s social views and basic human respect. Some views may be rooted in their culture but trying to disrupt any family structure in this way is disrespectful to parents.
Influence should be directed at parents for them to consider not their very young children.
Our elementary schools are to be neutral spaces where a basic education is the only focus and influencing actions restricted to good behavior & being respectful in school.
All activism has had success in our country as we have evolved in many ways, so keep it out of elementary schools and focus there on the highest basic reading, writing, math & science skills because activism at this level is a diversion.
Keep promoting different views at the higher level learning where students have developed some deductive reasoning skills to allow them to voice their views and choose for themselves.
Parents are right to demand they be the influencer of the early development of their children. They haven’t given that job to elementary schools.
