A Wheel of Fortune contestant’s incorrect guess caused an audible outburst from the audience during a recent episode of the long-running game show.

During an episode of the show’s “Teen Week,” a 10-grader named Khushi was just one letter away from winning a tropical vacation when she missed an obvious letter needed to solve the puzzle.

One audience member was so flummoxed by her wrong answer that they broke one of the show’s rules and yelled out, “What!”

After several correct guesses, Khushi was left with two remaining letters on the puzzle in the Food & Drink category, which read: “FRE_ _ TROPICAL FRUIT.”

Khushi guessed an H, which filled in the last letter of the first one, leaving it as: “FRE_H TROPICAL FRUIT.” But the contestant appeared bewildered by the remaining letter.

“Solve it or spin it or… but do something quickly,” Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak said.

Khushi spun the wheel and incorrectly guessed the letter “G,” prompting an involuntary outburst from an audience member. As the contestant appeared to turn her head in the audience member’s direction, groans emitted from others in the studio.

Another contestant named Julianna then correctly solved the puzzle as “FRESH TROPICAL FRUIT,” snagging $650 and a luxury trip to the Caribbean island of Antigua worth $10,000.

The unfortunate blunder quickly spread on Twitter, where one game show fan wrote: “I don’t think I’ve ever heard a single audience member audibly have such a violent reaction on Wheel of Fortune, as this lady did when a poor contestant called a G in ‘Fresh.'”

When your last name is “Khushi” it’s obvious that English isn’t your primary language. Maybe she should spell her name “Khughi”!
