January 1, WATCH: Actor Captures Brazen Crime on Video
Actor and comedian Michael Rapaport posted a video showing an alleged shoplifter brazenly walking out of a New York City Rite Aid with stolen merchandise.
Rapaport posted the video to Twitter, writing: “What did I just witness? Dude went straight shopping.”
“I can’t believe I’m seeing this s—t,” Rapaport says in the video.
“This f—king guy just filled his two bags up with everything in Rite Aid, right here on 80th [Street] and First Avenue is walking down the street like s—t is Gucci. I was watching him the whole time.”
“Looking me in my face like ‘What’s good?'” Rapaport says.
“My man just went Christmas shopping in January. He had the condoms, the shampoo.”
Rapaport tagged New York City Mayor Eric Adams in his Instagram post.
“Duke just went CHRISTMAS SHOPPING at @riteaid,” Rapaport wrote.
“I’m TRIPPING this happened in broad day like it was nothing.”
The video, which had amassed more than 283,000 views on Instagram as of Friday, attracted many commenters, including actor Mario Lopez.
“Dude looked at Security and said… ‘Sup?'” the Saved By The Bell alum wrote.
According to the National Retail Federation, retail losses are rising, with $719,458 in losses per $1 billion in sales in 2020.
