January 1, Venezuelan Suspect Faces Murder Charges After Loyola Student Killing

A 25-year-old Venezuelan migrant who entered the country illegally under the Biden administration has been charged with first-degree murder in the killing of Sheridan Gorman. The case has renewed scrutiny of border enforcement and public safety failures.
The Department of Homeland Security confirmed that Medina-Medina is being quarantined for a potentially contagious condition. Federal officials also said ICE has lodged a detainer against him.
