In a shocking display of entitlement, a recent graduate from LaGuardia Community College in Queens, New York, is being reprimanded after snatching a microphone from a staff member’s hand during the college’s commencement ceremonies last week.
The incident, captured on video, has since gone viral, sparking widespread debate on manners and respect for established procedures.
The graduate, Kadia Iman, engaged in a short wrestling match for the microphone with an older female staff member, in an attempt to grab her “moment”.
Iman gained control of the microphone and then made a short speech to the stunned crowd: “You didn’t let me get my moment … and I’m graduating today! I don’t like how you snatched the mic out of my hand, so today it’s gonna be all about me!”
After her speech, she threw the microphone to the ground and exited the scene.
Manny Romero, chief spokesman for LaGuardia Community College, addressed the incident in an email statement to the New York Post, noting Iman’s “disruptive and inappropriate behavior” was unacceptable and hampered the “celebration for graduates and guests.”
Romero stated that during commencement ceremonies, a volunteer holds the microphone as students announce their names.
This process is aimed at maintaining order during the ceremony and avoiding unnecessary delays.
However, Iman seemed unsatisfied with this standard procedure and chose to take matters into her own hands.
In response to the backlash she has received following the viral video, Iman reportedly posted on Instagram, a message that seems to play the race card and paints herself as a victim: “To everyone saying I should be embarrassed or I’ll never get a job … I’m a black woman in America I am always in the right … u will not gaslight me into thinking I’m the bad guy I did it for girls that look like me …”
The content of the post could not be independently verified as her account has since gone private.
Bottom Line
The incident, now under investigation by the college, has left a bitter taste in the mouth of the college community.
Romero assured that they are working to gain a better understanding of the incident and consider ways to prevent such instances in the future.
As of the writing of this article, the New York Post has reported that its attempts to contact Iman have been unsuccessful.

Acting like an idiot has nothing to do with race. It shows how uncivilized she is. If she is so oppressed then how did she get a college degree. So many of the young americans of today do not have any idea what oppression and having nothing means. They by the grace of God was born in this country. They could have been born in Haiti,Russia, Venezuela or some of the countries in Africa Where our lowest impoverished people look rich. Just because she is black does not make her entitled just as it does not make me entitled. If one wants to make something of themselves and for themselves then go work for it like millions of others have.

Just another self-righteous fool!!! She represents those that think they’re owed something like a reparations payment! Guess what, the Government bought a country (Liberia) so they could go back to Africa if they wanted to! They screwed that country up too!!! They have been messing up this country for decades!! Only a small minority of them truly care about getting ahead the correct way! Through study and hard work with educational efforts will they make any headway! It’s the majority of them that want to foock everything walking and the ones who want to get pregnant and live off Uncle Sam that give them a bad name!!!

And now the Supreme Court has prevented colleges from determining whether or not a prospective student is black! So, they cannot keep them from enrolling at their school! Damn it all! (and what or why exactly is the college even investigating??? lol, you know they can’t do anything about it!)
