Wyatt’s Take

  • America’s lands are facing neglect and partisan politics.
  • Trump’s new commission aims to restore conservation leadership.
  • Commonsense solutions could get our lands back on track.

America’s history is tied to the beauty and resources of our wide-open spaces. Our national parks and public lands were created to protect these treasures and build prosperity for all.

But politics have gotten in the way. Partisan bickering and years of poor management have left our parks and resources in trouble. Instead of working together, leaders have stalled progress and let our natural legacy slide.

Our National Park System is now $23 billion in debt. Bad policies have made wildfires worse, blocked access to land, and starved our farmers of good water resources. Across the board, American lands and wildlife are hurting.

President Trump is stepping in with an executive order to “Make America Beautiful Again.” He’s creating a national commission that brings together experts, leaders, and local voices to find real solutions for conservation, not just more red tape.

This new group will chart a plan to restore forests, protect water, clean up pollution, and bring back wildlife. The goal is to open more access for hunting, fishing, and outdoor fun while making sure we protect what makes America special for our children.

The commission pushes for teamwork across party lines and different groups, aiming to achieve practical results. It’s an opportunity to put aside differences and focus on keeping our lands strong, our water clean, and our future bright.

With the 250th birthday of our country coming up, it’s time to revive our tradition of stewardship and pride. Americans have always cherished the land. Now, there’s a plan to pass that beauty on to the next generation, stronger than ever.

All Americans have a duty to look after our resources and keep the land flourishing for our families, farmers, and workers. No more waiting—let’s get to work restoring America’s outdoor spirit.
