Wyatt’s Take

  • Courtney Williams allegedly ignored her oath to leak classified details about special operations to a reporter.
  • Investigators say she exchanged 180 messages with the journalist and even admitted she knew she was breaking the law.
  • The leak included sensitive tactics and intelligence that ended up in a book and various news reports.

Former military support employee Courtney Williams was arrested for allegedly funneling classified information to a journalist over several years. Prosecutors say Williams held a Top Secret clearance and ignored repeated training to protect sensitive national defense data.

Williams worked with a Special Military Unit for six years where she had access to top-level intelligence and tactics. She signed a nondisclosure agreement promising that any unauthorized release would lead to criminal prosecution.

From 2022 to 2025, Williams supposedly logged over 10 hours of phone calls with a member of the media.

These conversations allegedly contained details that later appeared in published books and articles.

“Clearance holders accept a solemn obligation to protect the classified information entrusted to them,” said Assistant Attorney General John A. Eisenberg.

“When clearance holders violate that trust, we will act swiftly to hold them accountable.”

Official documents show Williams was fully aware of the danger she was creating. On the day the journalist published the work, she allegedly expressed concern about the amount of classified information being exposed.

U.S. Attorney Ellis Boyle stated that the government will pursue charges whenever leakers put their own feelings above the safety of the United States. Williams now faces charges under the Espionage Act for her actions.

Wyatt Matters

Middle America knows trust, duty, and loyalty still matter. When insiders leak secrets, they endanger troops, weaken security, and betray the families who depend on both.
