January 1, Trump Warns Democrat Shutdown Over Health Costs
Wyatt’s Take
- Trump says Democrats may shut down government in January.
- He blames rising premiums on Obamacare and insurance company ties.
- Trump says aid should go straight to working families.
President Trump said Democrats are likely to force a government shutdown early next year. The reason, he says, is health care fights centered around expiring tax credits from the Affordable Care Act.
He said, “The problem is that Democrats will shut down the government because they’re beholden; they’re beholden to the insurance companies.”
Trump told a crowd in North Carolina that Democrats, controlled by insurance interests, may close down the government when current funding runs out. He also blamed Obamacare for driving up health costs.
Trump insists help should get to families, not insurance companies. He wants better deals for hardworking Americans facing big bills.
Stay alert, folks—your wallet and your health care could be on the line soon.
