Wyatt’s Take

  • The new executive order targets mail-in ballot reform and election security.
  • It directs agencies to verify citizenship and tighten ballot tracking.
  • The administration says states that ignore the rules could face federal funding consequences.

President Trump is taking a major step aimed at safeguarding elections with an executive order focused on mail-in ballot reform. The plan calls for stronger verification of citizenship and tighter tracking of ballots to reduce fraud.

The order would require Homeland Security to build verified citizen lists for all fifty states. The Postal Service would then only send ballots to people on those approved lists using secure barcode tracking.

White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson said the American people want a common-sense election integrity agenda.

“The President will do everything in his power to defend the safety and security of American elections and to ensure that only American citizens are voting in them.”

The administration is also pushing for the SAVE America Act to be passed immediately by the Senate. Trump has signaled he might veto other bills until election integrity becomes the law of the land.

“It must be done immediately. It supersedes everything else,” Trump posted on TruthSocial.

The Attorney General has been directed to prioritize the prosecution of anyone sending ballots to ineligible voters. The White House says the effort is meant to keep local elections fair and free from outside meddling.
