Wyatt’s Take

  • The Trump team has sent more Nicaraguans home in 2025 than in the last two years put together.
  • Deportation flights to Nicaragua have hit a five-year record high under Trump.
  • The Ortega regime keeps quiet about what’s really happening with incoming deportees.

President Trump’s administration deported more Nicaraguan migrants in the first nine months of 2025 than in all of 2023 and 2024 combined. Official data shows 6,095 Nicaraguans were sent back between January and September.

Nicaragua took in 52% more deportees in 2025 than the 3,996 in 2024, and triple the 2,020 in 2023. Deportations in 2023 and 2024 totaled 6,016, still less than this year so far.

There have already been 54 U.S. flights delivering deportees to Nicaragua by the end of September, the most seen in five years. By comparison, there were just 26 in 2024 and 24 in 2023.

The Nicaraguan communist regime, led by Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo, does not share details about these flights or the numbers returned. Ortega has only addressed deportations under Trump’s second term four times, first lashing out at Trump in April and accusing him of committing “crimes against humanity.”

Reports in March showed Ortega kept these deportation flights hidden, diverting them away from public view at the airport. According to local news, deported Nicaraguans are met by government workers, given food and medical checks, and then sent home—even those from distant towns.

Ortega last mentioned the deportations in late September, welcoming migrants “with open arms” but not giving out real numbers.

America’s border and immigration game is shifting fast. Is this tough love, or just keeping our house in order? Either way, Middle Americans want fairness, safety, and honesty in how we handle those who break our laws.
