Rep. Thomas Massie says he will force a House vote to impeach Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth next week unless he resigns, as Republicans blame the Iran war for their midterm rout.
Trump has made clear he has no intention of cutting Hegseth loose despite the pressure coming from inside his own party.
Massie is making his move at a time when many Republicans are looking for someone to blame after the party took heavy losses in the midterms.
The Kentucky congressman claims the war with Iran is the main reason voters punished Republicans at the ballot box.
President Trump sees things differently and continues to back the man he chose to lead the Pentagon.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth remains focused on the mission while political attacks come from both sides of the aisle.
