Standard Oil geologists arrive in Saudi Arabia. The partnership between Saudi King Abdel Aziz’s government and Standard Oil became known as the Arabian American Oil Company (Aramco).

Good morning Middle Americans!

Who would have thunk it? This whole whistleblower controversy would actually make things harder on Nancy Pelosi than Donald Trump.  House Democrats are already deeply divided over the issue of impeachment.  House Speaker Pelosi knows that impeachment is a losing issue with 2020 voters, but yet the far left flank of the Democratic party persists. And it’s getting harder and harder for Pelosi to hold them off.   The key question now: what, if anything changes in terms of impeachment with these new allegations about Trump supposedly pressuring Ukraine’s president.  Unless there is an audio recording about to be released, not a whole lot is going to change for President Trump, but it will for Pelosi.

Meanwhile, President Trump insists the real story is Joe Biden. The former Vice President may or may not have spoken to his son about Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings in Ukraine.

Also today, Antonio Brown is going off on the NFL, team owners and others. It looks like he is retiring after a series of troubling sexual assault allegations, but he claims he isn’t going down without a fight.

And finally, it was a great night for “Game of Thrones” at the Emmys last night. But in 2019, you can’t make everyone happy. And apparently, there were some Emmy watchers who still haven’t seen the GOT finale, and complained to the Emmy’s about spoiler alerts. The nerve of some people. The series finale aired in April – it’s been long enough.

‘That’s The Real Story’: Trump Doubles Down on Call to Investigate Biden after Whistleblower Complaint

(The Hill) – “Breaking News: The Ukrainian Government just said they weren’t pressured at all during the ‘nice’ call. Sleepy Joe Biden, on the other hand, forced a tough prosecutor out from investigating his son’s company by threat of not giving big dollars to Ukraine. That’s the real story!” the president Tweeted.

Trump has not denied that he urged Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden. Earlier Sunday, speaking to reporters outside the White House, Trump insisted there was no quid pro quo involved in the talks with the Ukrainian president, calling it a “perfect conversation.”

Instead, Trump has questioned why the media is not paying more attention to the Democratic front-runner’s actions.

He also criticized the whistleblower, saying the official had caused a “false alarm.”

Pelosi Hints at Impeachment Over Trump-Ukraine Whistleblower Complaint

(Axios) – “If the Administration persists in blocking this whistleblower from disclosing to Congress a serious possible breach of constitutional duties by the President, they will be entering a grave new chapter of lawlessness which will take us into a whole new stage of investigation.”

It’s likely that the “new stage of investigation” that Pelosi is referring to is impeachment. House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) — who along with Pelosi has refrained from endorsing impeachment until there’s enough public support — said Sunday that the whistleblower controversy could leave Democrats with no other choice.

In Cryptic Tweet, Antonio Brown Appears to Retire from NFL

(AP) – In a Twitter rant on the morning his most recent team was getting ready to play without him, the former New England Patriots receiver says, “Will not be playing in the NFL anymore.” He went on to take shots at other people in football who have been accused of sexual misconduct.

Included among them: Patriots owner Robert Kraft, who was arrested in a prostitution and sexual trafficking sting in a Florida massage parlor. He has not been punished. “Different strokes different folks clearly,” Brown wrote.

‘Game of Thrones’ Tops Emmys

(Fox News) –  The series finale aired on May 19 but many people still haven’t seen the fantasy drama series and have been avoiding hints about what happened.  People were upset about the award show’s lack of consideration and took to Twitter to air their frustrations.

“I’ve miraculously avoided Game of Thrones finale spoilers until tonight when the #Emmys broadcast a big spoiler,” someone complained.
