President Donald Trump handed out Purple Hearts to Air National Guard Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe and the late West Virginia Army National Guard member Sarah Beckstrom. This happened during the State of the Union speech.
The two got shot near Farragut Square in Washington DC back in November 2025. Beckstrom died the next day from her wounds.
Wolfe took a bullet to the head and had emergency surgery. By December he walked with help after rehab.
Trump called suspect Rahmanullah Lakanwal a terrorist monster.
“Purposely and with deliberate, premeditated malice”
Beckstrom’s parents stood tall as Trump called her a true American patriot. The room burst into applause.
“We love you all. Love you,”
Trump called up West Virginia Adjutant General Jim Seward to pin the Purple Heart on Wolfe.
Folks, real leaders honor our everyday heroes fighting threats at home. Stand strong for them like Trump does.
