Wyatt’s Take

  • Trump promises to clean up crime in troubled cities.
  • Chicago may be the next focus after success in D.C.
  • Mayor Johnson faces sharp criticism for handling crime.

President Trump told reporters that after fixing crime in D.C., his team might head to Chicago next. He promised to make cities safe again and said, “Chicago’s a mess.”

Trump didn’t hold back, calling Chicago’s Mayor Brandon Johnson “grossly incompetent.” He made it clear he thinks Chicago’s leadership isn’t up to the job and that people there want federal help.

“We’ll straighten that one out probably next,” Trump said. “That’ll be our next one after this, and it won’t even be tough.”

The crackdown might not stop with Chicago. Trump also pointed out New York City as another candidate for more law enforcement help.

Last week, Trump ordered extra officers to D.C. The Metropolitan Police Department confirmed there hasn’t been a homicide in over a week since the federal response.

Before this effort, Trump threatened to federalize D.C. over rising crime during his campaign. He responded to recent violent crime by declaring a crime emergency and stepping in.

“The city government’s failure to maintain public order and safety has had a dire impact on the federal government’s ability to operate efficiently to address the nation’s broader interests without fear of our workers being subjected to rampant violence,” President Trump’s order explained.

On Friday, he said D.C. is now “safe again” and praised the police for “doing a fantastic job.”

Americans are eager to see real solutions to rising crime. Hold your local leaders accountable, and demand safety for your community.

Wyatt Matters

Americans value strong, safe neighborhoods where families can thrive without fear. Leaders should focus on restoring order and security instead of playing politics with public safety.

Good for Trump. The criminal protecting democrats will find a lot of hate mongering diatribe to say about it, especially the near worthless officials that they have in this crime infested city. Most of the citizens should welcome help despite the local mayor and city council’s coming contentions that there is no crime, or very little.
