Wyatt’s Take

  • The Trump administration extended Title X grants to Planned Parenthood for one more year.
  • Officials say legal hurdles from the Biden era forced their hand for this final cycle.
  • Pro-life leaders are calling the move a betrayal of the movement.

The White House confirmed it is issuing the fifth and final year of Title X grants that were locked in place during the previous administration.

Spokesman Kush Desai noted that legal challenges prevented the administration from stopping these specific dollars from being distributed.

“The Administration faced significant legal challenges in stopping any of these dollars from going out,” Desai said.

He added that the administration remains committed to realigning the program with a pro-life and pro-family agenda in the future.

The White House also highlighted that Medicaid defunding through the One Big Beautiful Bill is still being enforced.

Pro-life leaders are not satisfied with the legal explanations provided by the administration.

Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America president Marjorie Dannenfelser called the move a slap in the face to the GOP base.

“This is an inexplicable slap in the face to the pro-life GOP base,” Dannenfelser said.

She noted that three out of four Republican voters support defunding the organization.

Other advocates pointed out that previous policies had successfully stopped this funding on day one in the past.

Live Action president Lila Rose joined the chorus of criticism, stating that taxpayer dollars should never sustain the abortion industry.

She described the decision as a betrayal of Americans who expected a firm stand against public funding for these groups.

“Taxpayer dollars should never be used to prop up America’s largest abortion business,” Rose said.

The administration has maintained it is the most pro-life in history, citing the reversal of radical left-wing policies.

Recent efforts include an investigation into states that require insurance providers to cover abortion procedures.

Middle America is watching closely to see if the next funding cycle finally cuts the cord.

The promise to prioritize life must be more than just talk for the people who sent this administration to Washington.

Wyatt Matters

Middle Americans value the sanctity of life and expect their tax dollars to reflect those heartland principles.

Any funding sent to this industry is seen as a violation of the trust voters placed in their leaders at the ballot box.

This is absolutely a betrayal. Legal hurdles, my eye! If the legal obstacles had been so significant that even the AG’s office couldn’t get past them, why did we hear nothing about it? And why didn’t it go to the Supreme Court if necessary—he certainly hadn’t shied away from taking other battles to court. There is ZERO excuse for continuing to fund murder. I am a huge Trump supporter, but he really failed us on this one.

We, the taxpayers should absolutely not be providing money to Planned Parenthood. Their primary service is providing abortions and murdering unborn babies. Healthcare and preventive measures are less than 5% of their services.
