Wyatt’s Take

  • Treasury blocked 40 shipping firms and 19 specific vessels linked to Iran’s shadow fleet.
  • China’s Hengli refinery was sanctioned for purchasing billions of dollars in illegal Iranian petroleum.
  • The administration has sanctioned over 1,000 Iran-related entities since February 2025 to exert maximum pressure.

The Trump administration is tightening the noose on the Iranian regime by hitting their biggest customers and shadow shipping networks.

The Treasury Department just sanctioned China-based Hengli Petrochemical and dozens of vessels moving billions in black-market oil.

These refineries and shadow fleets are the primary reason the Iranian economy stays afloat while they fund terror against our interests.

By cutting off their ability to sell crude oil to Asian markets, we are putting American security first and stopping the flow of cash to bad actors.

“Economic Fury is imposing a financial stranglehold on the Iranian regime, hampering its aggression in the Middle East, and helping to curtail its nuclear ambitions,” said Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent.

“At President Trump’s direction, Treasury will continue to constrict the network of vessels, intermediaries, and buyers Iran relies on to move its oil to global markets.”

The latest action targets vessels like the LISBOA and the ZHEN ZHU, which have moved millions of barrels of oil through covert ship-to-ship transfers.

These sanctions ensure that any entity helping Iran evade trade restrictions risks being completely cut off from the U.S. financial system.

Keep an eye on how these global players react as the President continues to prioritize Middle American safety over foreign dictators.

We will keep you updated on the results of this economic squeeze.
