Wyatt’s Take

  • Sinclair refuses to air Jimmy Kimmel Live despite ABC’s decision.
  • Nearly 40 ABC affiliates will air news instead of Kimmel for now.
  • A future deal is possible, but talks are ongoing.

Sinclair Broadcasting Group is holding firm and will not air Jimmy Kimmel’s show on their ABC stations Tuesday, even after ABC and Kimmel settled their dispute.

They own about 40 ABC stations, including one in Washington, D.C., and are replacing the late-night show with news for now.

Sinclair says, “Discussions with ABC are ongoing as we evaluate the show’s potential return.”

The move follows Disney announcing Kimmel’s comeback after time off, which was caused by backlash to his remarks about Charlie Kirk’s assassination.

Another broadcaster, Nexstar, is also dropping the show for now.
