January 1, ‘Senator Karen’: Elon Musk Gets Into It with Elizabeth Warren

Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) had a heated exchange on Twitter after the progressive lawmaker fired shots at Musk after being named Time Magazine Person of the Year.

Warren tweeted a link to an article about Musk’s accolade, along with the caption: “Let’s change the rigged tax code so The Person of the Year will actually pay taxes and stop freeloading off everyone else.”

The lawmaker is likely referring to leaked IRS data that shows Musk didn’t pay any federal income taxes in 2018.

The eccentric billionaire wrote a series of direct replies to Warren’s tweet. In his first reply, he wrote, “And if you opened your eyes for 2 seconds, you would realize I will pay more taxes than any American in history this year.”

Musk then posted a link to an article from Fox News entitled “Elizabeth Warren is a fraud — Her lies about being Native American disqualify her from presidency, Senate” along with the caption: “Stop projecting!”

“You remind me of when I was a kid and my friend’s angry Mom would just randomly yell at everyone for no reason,” Musk wrote.”

“Please don’t call the manager on me, Senator Karen,” he wrote, along with a prayer hands emoji.

The interaction was apparently on Musk’s mind a few days later.

“For those wondering, I will pay over $11 billion in taxes this year,” he wrote.
