Wyatt’s Take

  • Senator Banks wants the Commerce Department to look at the 2020 Census for possible mistakes.
  • He says the Biden administration used controversial methods and counted illegal migrants without checking citizenship.
  • Banks claims this could have changed congressional districts and Electoral College votes in favor of Democrats.

Senator Jim Banks from Indiana is asking the Commerce Secretary and the Census Bureau to examine the 2020 Census. He believes the numbers may have included people who are not citizens and that mistakes could have changed political representation.

Banks pointed to a statistical method called differential privacy and said it was used by the Biden administration. He worries that illegal migrants were included without verifying who they are.

“As prepared by the Biden administration, the 2020 Census reports miscounted the population of fourteen states, wrongly allocating six congressional seats and Electoral College votes to the Democrat party,” the senator wrote. “The reports may have also miscounted the population in a number of voting districts.”

He also said that differential privacy may have caused the drawing of voting districts to be off base. Banks noted that there is a file with the original numbers, but hardly anyone can see it.

“The worst part is that we don’t know how many voting districts are problematic,” Banks said. “A file containing the original, unaltered census data exists, but only a few bureaucrats have access to it.”

Banks wants the Census Bureau to give the states a new count using the raw data and to make sure future counts ask about citizenship. He believes Americans should know how many people here are not citizens and that the census should not use confusing math that hides the truth.

The way the census is counted can change who represents our communities and who has a say in our lives. Middle America deserves honest numbers so we are not left out or overruled by political games.

1,000% this. Thankful that POTUS got a second chance to undo the criminal wrongdoing.
