A member of Sen. Rand Paul’s (R-KY) staff was “brutally attacked in broad daylight” in Washington, D.C., the senator confirmed in a statement.

“This past weekend a member of my staff was brutally attacked in broad daylight in Washington, D.C.,” Paul said in a statement.

“I ask you to join Kelley and me in praying for a speedy and complete recovery, and thanking the first responders, hospital staff, and police for their diligent actions,” the senator’s statement continued. “We are relieved to hear the suspect has been arrested. At this time we would ask for privacy so everyone can focus on healing and recovery.”

At approximately 5:17 p.m. on Saturday, the Metropolitan Police Department received a report of a stabbing in the 1300 block of H Street, Northeast, the department said in a news release. Responding officers found an adult male victim, who was transported to a local hospital for “treatment of life-threatening injuries.”

Detectives arrested Glynn Neal, 42, in connection with the attack. Neal was charged with assault with intent to kill.

Federal Bureau of Prisons records show that Neal was released from prison on Friday, March 24 — one day before the stabbing.

Paul has also been the victim of an assault. In 2017, he sustained serious injuries when a neighbor attacked him, including broken ribs and a damaged lung — which was partially removed in 2019.

Last year, the GOP lawmaker described the attack as “an assault (from behind) that resulted in 6 broken ribs, a damaged lung that had to be removed, and chronic pain.”

As long as politicians, media personalities encourage hate and division, violence will continue. The unhinged left is off the rails of reason and prosecutors and judges aren’t doing their jobs by incarcerating people to curb future violence. It’s incredible to realize that it’s a deliberate strategy. As long as it’s the other side being hurt or killed, they have no problem with it, on the contrary they celebrate it. That’s genuine depravity.
