January 1, Schoolchildren Turned Away To Make Room For Migrant Students [Video]
The immigration situation in New York City has taken a significant turn, and it’s affecting the city’s own young residents.
Recent reports reveal that an astonishing 21,000 NYC schoolchildren were unable to return to their regular classrooms due to the influx of migrant children. This has ignited a fierce debate on the consequences and implications of such uncontrolled immigration.
As parents and students arrived for the first day of school at a high school in Long Island City, they were greeted by an unprecedented line that wound its way around the block.
Amid the sea of local students stood a 15-year-old immigrant from Venezuela, who expressed his enthusiasm about starting his high school journey in the US.
Sara Gonzales, commenting on the situation, remarked, “Not so great, though, if you’re a child, an American child, in New York City being displaced by illegals.”
Many analysts and commentators have voiced concerns about the strain unchecked immigration places on resources and infrastructure.
Eric July is one such commentator, suggesting that a popular perception exists wherein the United States is viewed as an infinitely accommodating space.
He argues, “Folks act like this isn’t even a thing, right? It’s just, ‘It’s okay, America’s big, has all this land, just bring each and every individual over here. These folks are seeking better lives and that’s it.’”
July cautions that there are immediate and future consequences, even pointing to cultural conflicts, which arise from unchecked immigration.
John Doyle took a more direct stance.
Referring to the infrastructural strain and the housing market pressures, he stated, “We don’t need this many people. They’re clogging up the housing markets, the highway system.”
“That’s not why we built this country. We didn’t build it for Venezuelans, we built it for Americans. I’m sorry, but like, that just happens to be the case.”
Amid these concerns, a central point of contention remains: the perceived imbalance of compassion.
Sara Gonzales highlighted this aspect, noting the troubling irony in the current situation. While the country is making efforts to accommodate newcomers, some of its own citizens face displacement.
She observed, “We’ve got all of these homeless people who are being displaced again in New York City.”
“We’re choosing as a nation to not be compassionate to our own in exchange for being compassionate for citizens of other countries.”

As much as I dislike the policies in New York, it is our children who are the ones to take the brunt of Biden’s and the democrats policy on the border and immigration. You voted for them. Support impeachment and ge him the hell out of office and support Trump and you lives will change for the better.The US was a self sufficient country and since Biden became President we are now dependent on our enemies.

So let me get this straight, illegals who pay no taxes are being given accommodations that are supposed to be for American children who’s parents pay taxes. Do I understand that correctly?? So this is what Democrats do to real Americans. But this must be what their parents want because they keep voting for the people who are screwing over them and their children. They are criminals simply by being here in contravention of the law. The liberals, by not doing their duty to address this criminal issue while still prosecuting American citizens – for any crime at all – are violating the 14th Amendment guarantee of equal protection. Obey the damn law (for once!) and protect the borders while rounding-up and returning back from whence they came, all the foreign criminals on American soil and let them know that, because of their criminal actions, they are forever barred from these shores!

Before this illegal immigration crisis our government was putting us trillions of dollars in debt to fund handout programs. Now millions more have shown up by illegally entering our country and they expect to be completely care for with free housing, food, clothing, medical care, health care, and free education. We don’t have the resources to care for new wards of the state. Give them nothing, no food, no shelter, no clothing, no health care, no schooling, no jobs, nothing! When they get desperate enough the majority will have to leave or risk dying.

Here I thought NY law required the city to provide education for its citizens. If a district couldn’t provide public education, it had to sen the students to private schools and pay the costs. What happened to following the law?
