Pence Calls for Return to Trump-Era Policies Amid ‘Crisis of Epic Proportions’
Former Vice President Mike Pence blamed President Joe Biden for a “crisis of epic proportions” at the U.S.-Mexico border, calling for a return to Trump-era policies.
“The policies that this administration have implemented are not a reflection of incompetence. The truth of the matter is the Democratic Party today is largely dominated by the radical left. And on their agenda is the goal of open borders, plain and simple,” Pence said during a speech in Phoenix, Arizona.
The former vice president said Biden created a crisis by overturning former President Donald Trump’s border and immigration policies, urging him to reinstate several of them to dramatically reduce illegal immigration.
Pence urged Biden to finish Trump’s planned border wall, immediately deport illegal immigrants who are criminals or gang affiliates, ban “sanctuary cities” in the U.S., reinstate Trump’s “remain in Mexico” policy for asylum seekers, and keep Title 42.
“We know it works because it worked. I was there, standing shoulder to shoulder with President Trump,” Pence said.
