  • A woman in Oklahoma lost all her limbs after a pit bull attack.
  • Police acted fast, but the damage was done.
  • A fundraiser aims to help cover huge medical costs.

A woman in Oklahoma went through an unthinkable ordeal when a pit bull mauled her, causing her to lose both arms and legs. Janelle Scott was walking through a wooded area to visit a friend when two dogs attacked, with one dog belonging to a jailed owner.

Cheryl Scott, Janelle’s mother, shared how her daughter fought for her life.

“After seeing her arm after the attack, she knew she was going to lose her right arm because she said when she looked down, she could see the bone, and it was just barely hanging on by tendons and stuff, so she knew she was going to lose that,”

Cheryl explained.

Police report that Janelle’s boyfriend, who was also attacked, killed the main dog in self-defense. One other dog was present but hasn’t been tied to the attack and remains alive.

The attack happened late at night on September 9, and police officers quickly responded to calls.

“Officers arrived in the area and could hear someone yelling from a wooded area nearby this location.

Officers made their way down a trail into the wooded area and discovered a female suffering from significant and severe injuries.

Officers immediately began to provide emergency field care to the victim and requested an ambulance to the location,”

According to police.

Janelle’s surgeries have taken all four of her limbs, and more medical procedures are planned. Community members have raised over $20,000 for her recovery costs.

If you want to help, find her fundraiser or share her story. Middle Americans know how to come together when tragedy strikes one of our own.

Connecitons within your community are what truly matters.

I was severely injured about 5 years ago when drunk driver decided my car was an impediment to hers as she ran into the rear and then sideswiped it and sent it into a couple rollover.

I was left with injuries and needed financial assistance, and except for 4 individual my son knows there was no one, not even tho=se I had worked with for about 20 years by then came forward to financially assist me in my hour of need.

For this woman I am very happy she got financial assistance, but she still needs more.
