January 1, NYC Parents Outraged Over Secret Migrant Shelter Near Brooklyn School
In April, New York City decided to open an all-male illegal immigrant shelter just a stone’s throw away from a private Christian school in Brooklyn. This move has understandably raised serious concerns among local residents about the safety of their children.
Jeffrey Reed, the principal of City Life Academy, and Irina Edelstein, a mother whose three children attend the school, shared their frustrations. According to them, the city pushed forward with this plan in secrecy, failing to notify nearby residents, including the families of children attending the K-12 Christian school.
Reed and Edelstein voiced their alarm over the city’s lack of communication. Edelstein discovered the new shelter when an anxious resident handed her a flyer during school pickup. Reed was similarly left in the dark until the shelter was nearly ready to open.
“We came back from spring break, and suddenly the shelter was fully operational,” Edelstein said, emphasizing the city’s complete lack of transparency.
Edelstein, who legally immigrated from the former Soviet Union, emphasized the distinction between lawful immigration and what she describes as an “invasion.” Concerned about how the city bypassed proper channels, Reed explained, “They knew there would be pushback so they kept it from us. Decisions made in secret are rarely sound.”
The school has since ramped up security, including video surveillance and a volunteer program dubbed “Dad Days.” These days involve fathers patrolling the area to deter any potential threats. Reed remarked, “Simply having dads present deters people from approaching.”
Andrea Mew from the Independent Women’s Forum underscored the gravity of the situation. “Brooklyn is far from the southern border, yet moms like Irina are feeling the direct impact of this border crisis in their own neighborhoods,” she said. She stressed the importance of documenting these local impacts to highlight the failures of city leadership.
The New York City Mayor’s Office of Migrant Affairs did not respond to requests for comments.

Even Ms Edelstein, a legal immigrant realizes the invasion. What was Brooklyn’s city council thinking? Of course, Kamala Harris says on her commercials, “Our borders are secure” The parents of those children should not allow this to rest until it is safely resolved.

So the City bum rushes a community by inflicting a migrant shelter with no advanced warning and then is totally unresponsive to community concerns. Of course the background of these illegal migrants ( any history of criminal activity) is completely unknown. Perhaps these migrants would be better housed in Gracie Mansion or next to the Mayor’s real estate holdings. The putrid stench of the Adam’s administration is pungent!

It is very sad that our authorities decide to change the life in our neighborhood. The MAJOR hides that information to the affected citizen. He knows that it is wrong, and probably it is not legal. He is in the Major position because NYC citizen put him in that job. He has to be consequent with his mistakes and stop demagogic decisions. He should return the peace and security to these families that are worry, because the Major put their children in dangerous situation. All of us know that the delicense and the crime has increased due to the very easier Major decision, putting the immigrant in the heart of NYC. Every day the police report treating of kidnaping children near the school. SR. MAJOR, THE MISTAKES SHOULD BE FIXED. PLEASE, LISTEN TO THE CITIZEN THAT PUT YOU ON THIS JOB.

The scariest part is knowing that an invasion of immigrants was allowed to enter our country freely and sadly that included an unknown number of criminals and drugs, etc. Many US cities have become dangerous because of this

This is an UNCONSTITUTIONAL move by the city. BUT, it being DEMOCRAP, what can one expect? Lies, deceit , maneuvering to the contrary , and obsfucation. TYPICAL Yankee intelligence with typical Yankee indifference , yet THEY still vote for the likes of Obama, Ocasio ,Tlab , Biden , Clinton , Waters , Pelosi, and the Whitmeyers. Not one of them care for the Constitution , Bill of Rights, or even city laws. They do care that YOU send them MORE money to run for office , more money to keep them in office , and MORE money to fill their liquor cabinet’s filled, and MORE POWER.
I suggest children , that you question why THEY want NO ONE to own firearms.
