January 1, New Epstein Files Expose Lavish Gifts, VIP Ties

Wyatt’s Take
- Epstein gave expensive gifts to top Obama lawyer
- Powerful business and political figures kept in contact
- Files reveal risky emails and social events for elites
Recently unsealed emails from the Jeffrey Epstein case shine a harsh light on his dealings with America’s rich and powerful. These records show he gave former Obama White House counsel Kathryn Ruemmler pricey gifts, like a $9,400 Hermes handbag and a spa trip at the Four Seasons in Washington, D.C.
The files also show that Washington Commanders and Philadelphia 76ers owner Josh Harris had contact with Epstein after his 2008 conviction. Harris’ spokesperson said he “never had an independent relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.”
“Did you have fun at breakfast?” Epstein wrote Harris.
“Yes very much,” Harris replied. “Thank you for inviting me.”
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick appears in several messages about trips to Epstein’s island in 2012, despite claiming he’d cut off contact after a troubling meeting in 2005. Spokespeople say Lutnick was never accused of wrongdoing and his interactions were limited.
Other messages show Epstein tried to set up a meeting between New York Giants owner Steve Tisch and women, with one email referring to a “tahitian” woman who “speaks mostly french, exotic.”
Social notes also drag in film director Mira Nair, who joined after-parties for her movie at Ghislaine Maxwell’s home, attended by heavyweights like Bill Clinton and Jeff Bezos. In other exchanges, powerful sports executive Casey Wasserman sent flirty emails to Maxwell, discussing private massages.
These documents, made public by Congress, reveal how the elite kept close with Epstein, even after his criminal conviction. Every new release pulls back the curtain on how deep his ties ran to politics, business, and Hollywood.
When power and money mix behind closed doors, the truth only comes out when regular folks demand answers. These files show why transparency and accountability matter for everyone—not just the rich and connected.
