Wyatt’s Take

  • The FBI searched John Bolton’s house over alleged classified files.
  • Critics now cry “authoritarianism,” after cheering Trump’s Mar-a-Lago raid.
  • The hypocrisy in D.C. is on full display.

The FBI raided former Trump advisor John Bolton’s home, reportedly looking for classified documents. Some Beltway insiders, who didn’t care much when the FBI searched Trump’s place, are suddenly outraged.

Olivia Troye called the move an act of “authoritarianism.”

“When Kash Patel turns the FBI into Trump’s revenge squad, that’s not justice, it’s authoritarianism. Today it’s John Bolton. Tomorrow it could be any other critic who dares defy Trump. The Bureau’s credibility is being gutted from within. This is intimidation, not law enforcement. Every American should be alarmed.”

Troye was fine with the Mar-a-Lago raid and quickly blamed Trump at the time, but now feels deeply concerned.

Chuck Todd chimed in, blaming GOP senators for enabling the agency and accusing Trump of politicizing the FBI.

“The senators who were bullied into confirming Kash Patel, how are you feeling today? It’s not like you weren’t warned that this guy would be comfortable politicizing the agency. Trump couldn’t have done this without the weak senate GOP enabling.”

Todd once said the FBI’s search of Trump’s home was backed by “probable cause” and urged Republicans to keep calm.

Asawin Suebsaeng declared, “You do not have to like John Bolton to see this for what it is.”

He claimed the current administration is expanding what they call the “Deep State,” but pushed a different story after the Mar-a-Lago raid, suggesting most Americans supported it.

Jonah Goldberg sarcastically remarked on social media, “Thank goodness the era of weaponizing the justice system and national security lawfare has come to an end.”

He defended the Trump raid as “entirely justified” but now laments the FBI’s actions against Bolton.

More Trump critics voiced panic. Adam Kinzinger said, “The Bolton raid should chill you.” Bill Kristol spelled out, “How do you spell I-N-T-I-M-I-D-A-T-I-O-N?” Miles Taylor posted, “You cannot ignore this, America. Our Republic is being used as a revenge machine.”

Now that the shoe is on the other foot, their outrage is loud and clear. When Trump faced a similar raid, these folks celebrated. Now, with Bolton under the microscope, they see “authoritarianism” and “chilling” powers at work.

Stay sharp and never let the political class twist justice to serve themselves while crying foul when the tables turn.

Wyatt Matters
