January 1, Nancy Pelosi Tests Positive for COVID
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is in quarantine after testing positive for the coronavirus, her office has announced.
“After testing negative this week, Speaker Pelosi received a positive test result for COVID-19 and is currently asymptomatic. The Speaker is fully vaccinated and boosted, and is thankful for the robust protection the vaccine has provided,” said Drew Hammill, Pelosi’s deputy chief of staff.
“The Speaker will quarantine consistent with CDC guidance, and encourages everyone to get vaccinated, boosted and test regularly.”
Pelosi’s positive test came on Thursday morning, just one day after close contact with President Joe Biden. The speaker had been at the White House with the president for the signing of a Postal Service reform bill.
