A Monmouth poll released Tuesday suggests that a majority of Republican voters believe former President Donald Trump would be the most likely candidate to defeat President Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential election.
In total, 63% of the poll respondents favored Trump as the strongest candidate, while 32% thought that another Republican would have a better chance at defeating Biden.
Of those favoring Trump, 45% were definite about their choice, while 18% felt he was probably the best candidate.
Conversely, of those favoring another candidate, 19% felt they would probably be stronger, and 13% were certain they would be stronger.
In a comparison of potential candidates, the poll also showed Trump leading Florida Governor Ron DeSantis by 24 points, holding 43% to DeSantis’s 19%. However, both candidates still enjoy high favorability ratings among Republicans, with Trump at 77% and DeSantis at 73%.
Despite this, Patrick Murray, director of the independent Monmouth University Polling Institute, commented that DeSantis still has to make a convincing case as to why GOP voters should vote for him over Trump.

I agree that Trump is the only candidate to beat Biden. However, that is if there is an HONEST election this time with no democrat shenanigans.

RJG… Asking for a clean election with no democrat shenanigans is like asking the sun not to shine on a cloud-free day. Republicans should have been working overtime to eliminate mail in ballots, ballot harvesting, etc. since idiot Biden won in 2020. Instead, they’ve been fighting amongst themselves, the RINOs against true conservatives, who for my money, should be running the show.
