January 1, Military Report Raises New Questions About COVID-19’s Origins

Hey folks, it looks like there’s some big news about COVID-19 that the Biden administration didn’t share sooner. A report from December 2022 shows that seven of our brave military members might have caught a virus with COVID-19-like symptoms when they were in Wuhan, China, all the way back in October 2019. That’s a lot earlier than what they’ve been telling us about the pandemic starting in December 2019.

These service members were in Wuhan for the 2019 World Military Games. This report should have been released earlier, but it was kept under wraps until the Trump team put it out there. Seven of our troops got sick, showing signs like what we now know as COVID-19, but their illnesses went away in a few days.

The Biden administration said before that nobody from the U.S. caught the virus at those games, but this report says otherwise. That’s a problem because we deserve to know what really happened. It adds to the idea that the virus might’ve been around longer than China told us and maybe even leaked from a lab.

Also, athletes from other countries think they might have gotten sick at those games too. Folks from France, Italy, and Germany have spoken up about getting really sick there, and they think it could have been COVID-19.

Senator Joni Ernst from Iowa is saying that taxpayers deserve the truth. The Biden administration should have shared this right away, not kept it secret. If Americans caught this virus weeks before China said anything, the story about it starting at a market doesn’t fit.

Our nation needs transparency and the truth, especially about something as important as the origins of COVID-19. We should always know where our officials stand and demand answers.

Reading about the report on our military members who got sick in Wuhan before we even knew about COVID-19 is surprising. It shows that the virus might have been around earlier than we thought. If this is true, it means the virus may have spread to other places sooner too. The government should share important news like this right away. Everyone deserves to know what is happening, especially when it could affect our health.

Hearing that athletes from other countries were sick at the Wuhan games too makes me think even more that we need open and honest communication from our leaders. If folks from France, Italy, and Germany are saying they were sick there, it’s not just an issue for us, but for the whole world. We depend on our leaders to tell us the truth so we can be prepared and safe. Keeping secrets isn’t helpful.

Senator Ernst is right when she says we should get the truth. If the virus was here before we thought, we need to know how it started and spread. It’s important for figuring out what really happened. Everyone, including kids like me, needs to trust that adults in charge will be honest, especially about something as serious as COVID-19. We learn better and make better decisions if we have all the facts.
